Got sick... again...

Why? Why? Oh Why? Why is it that I often get sick? And when there was an occasion around the corner too!! Wahh!!! It's so annoying that I've been missing the good stuff because I often get sick! Grrr!!!!

Huhu... missed my niece's debut last Saturday! I was so excited too! Then I fell sick on Thursday. Friday was really bad. I don't even want to go to the doctor because I was feeling so nauseous and my tummy hurts quite badly. But, still, I went. So, doc prescribed meds for me to take... but it didn't work that well. Though the feeling of nauseousness disappeared, tummy is hurts, a bit less though..

It was only after "chef" made "salabat" for me to drink on Sunday, that I felt a lot better. But not completely, yet. So, I'm hoping this gassy feeling would soon disappear...

Sheesh... if it's not the flu, it's this one!!

'So You Think You Can Dance': A Tribute to Breast Cancer Fighters

As I was browsing through Yahoo main page, my eyes caught these texts "Dance Routine Moves Reality Judges To Tears". I'm not actually a fan of "So You Think you Can Dance" show. But I clicked, read, and watched the video anyway. Consider me an illiterate when it comes to dance, still as I watched the video, I can't help but be amazed with how the pair managed to leap, fly, jump into the air with so much grace and power.

I should be sleeping right now, but I'm glad I stayed up late to read and watch this clip (and blog on it).

Weight Loss Diet

Last Sunday, we visited our grandma. It was then that my auntie asked if I'm interested in a diet plan she got, which have worked for her friends and for people working at their place. She said that within 1 week, you'll be able to lose 17lbs, as long as you stick STRICTLY to the plan. Kung baga, wala pong dayaan ha.. One of the maids got to lose 10+lbs (I think), some friends of hers got to lose a number of lbs as well (ahh.. can't remember the figures), and she did too, however, by the xth day, nasira siya sa plan... But still, she got to loose some within a short period.

Right now, I doubt that I'll be able to do it, much less start on it... Ang sarap kasing lumafang eh!! Anyway, I asked for a copy just in case I got enough determination and the right mind set.

I thought of posting this plan here just in case I lose the paper or if anyone is interested in trying it out (walang dayaan ha!).

{Start of Quote}

This program was developed in conjunction with a grant from the US Department of Agriculture and the Food and Drug Administration. It was field tested at the Johns Hopkins Research Center.

This program is designed for a target weight loss of 10-17 lbs per week. It will also improve your attitude and emotions because of its cleansing systematic effects.

The effectiveness of the seven day plan is that the food eaten burns more calories than they give to the body in calorie value.

This plan can be used as often as you like without any fear of complications. It is designed to flush your system of impurities and give you a feeling of well being. After seven days you will begin to feel lighter because you will be lighter - by at least 10 lbs. You will have an abundance of energy and an improved disposition.

DURING THE FIRST SEVEN DAYS, YOU MUST ABSTAIN FROM ALL ALCOHOL.

YOU MUST DRINK 10 GLASSES OF WATER EACH DAY.

DAY ONE:
All fruits except bananas. Your first day will consist of all fruits you want.
It is strongly suggested you consume lots of melons the first day especially watermelons and cantaloupe. If you limit your fruit consumptions to melons, your chances of losing pounds the first day are very good.

Day one - you are preparing your system for the upcoming program. Your only source of nutrition is fresh or canned fruits. Fruits are nature's perfect foods. They provide everything you could possibly want to sustain life except total balance and variety.

DAY TWO:
All vegetables. You are encouraged to eat until you are stuffed with all the raw or cooked vegetables of your choice. There is no limit on the amount of type.

For your complex carbohydrates, you will start day two with a large baked potato for breakfast. You may top the potato with a pat of butter.

Day Two starts with a fix of complex carbohydrates coupled with an oil dose. This is taken in the morning for energy and balance. The rest of the day consists of vegetables which are virtually calorie free and provide essential nutrients and fiber.

DAY THREE:
A mixture of fruits and vegetables of your choice. Any amount, any quantity. No bananas yet, no potato today.

Day three eliminates the potato because you can get your carbohydrates from the fruits. Your system is now prepared to start burning excess pounds. You still have cravings start to diminish by day four.

DAY FOUR:
Bananas and milk. Today you will eat as much as 8 bananas and drink 3 glasses of milk.

Day four, bananas, milk, and soup sounds the strangest and least desirable. you are in for a surprise. You probably will not eat all the bananas allowed. but they are there for the potassium you have lost and the calcium you may have missed the past 3 days. You will notice a definite loss of desire for sweets. You will be surprised how easy this day will go.

DAY FIVE:
Today is a feast day. You will eat beef and tomatoes. Eat two 10oz portions of lean beef. Hamburger is ok. Combine this with big whole tomatoes. On day five you may increase water intake by on quart. This is to cleanse your system of the uric acid you would be producing.

Day five, beef and tomatoes. The red meat is for iron and protein. The tomatoes are for digestion and fiber. Lots of water to purify your system. You should notice colorless urine today. Your allowance calls for the equivalent of "5 Quarter Pounders". Do not feel you have to eat all this beef. You must eat 6 tomatoes.

DAY SIX:
Beef and vegetables. Today you must eat an unlimited amount of beef and vegetables. Eat to your hearts content.

Day six is similar to day five. Iron and protein from beef. Vitamins and fiber from vegetables. There should be noticeable difference in the way you look today compared to day one.

DAY SEVEN:

n
nn Today your food intake will consist of brown rice, fruit juices and all the vegetables you care to consume. Tomorrow morning you will be 10-17 lbs lighter than one week ago.. If you desire further weight loss, repeat the program again. You may repeat this as much as you like, however, it is suggested that you rest for 3 days between each repitition. After 7 days, you are allowed 2 glasses of white wine in addition to the instructions on the program. You may substitute champagne from white wine. Under no circumstances are you to drink any other alcoholic beverages with the exception of beer which is allowed. Any liquor is forbidden. Cream drinks are specially forbidden. If you have wine, drink only wine that day. If you have beer, drink only beer that day. Alcohol adds empty calories to you diet. However, after the first week, it will help you digestion and will settle your stomachs.

Day seven finishes off the program like a good cigar used to finish of Victorian meals, except much healtier. You have your system under control and it should thank you for the purging and cleansing you just gave it.

If you repeat the program, you may substitute fish or fowl for beef on day five or six. As a matter of fact, if you repeat more than twice, it is recommended. You do not want to get your system used to the diet routine. Believe it or not, you system has a will of its own and will tend to get lazy. You need the stimulation of variety.

{End of Quote}

Well, that's it. To those who plan to try it out, remember, wala pong dayaan, stick STRICTLY to the plan. And afterwards, balitaan nyo kami haha...

A Big Heartfelt Thank You!!!

Crocs - Mega Sale!!

March 15, Sunday, I asked my bro if he was going anywhere,
he said no
so I asked if he'd like to go to Crocs mega sale (since we're both crocs addict).

Even though we're not familiar with the place, we manage to find mega tent. However, it would seem that parking was full... Upon reaching the gate, sinarahan ba naman kami! =( Wala atang parking space. Anyway, after a few minutes of waiting... the iron gates finally opened. So we parked the car and headed for the entrance.

Wah!! there's a long queue! Ah baka for registration and such. Besides, the lines are moving naman, so pumila kami. When we were near the door... ay naku... sinarahan nanaman kami!! This time, it was quite a long wait.

While waiting, we saw people carrying HUGE plastics full of crocs footwear! Wow!! Maybe it's really really cheap.... hehehhe... We also overheard people saying it was jam packed inside, the line was long etc etc... It can't possibly be that bad, so we just ignored and continued on.

Anyway, here's a link to my bro's site. He got a video of the place, you be the judge =P

Garlic and Cheese Mac

This one is a (slight) variation (or hybrid?) of Kenny Rogers' sidings (Garlic Parley Potato & Macaroni and Cheese)

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
Pasta, cooked (macaroni, elbow, shell etc you decide... wag lang mahaba, dahil, good luck dyan!)
Cheese Whiz (or any cheese similar to cheese whiz texture)
Garlic, minced
Pepper, ground

WHAT TO DO:
Brown garlic.
Transfer browned garlic into a mixing bowl.
Add cheese.
Add pepper to taste.
Add cooked pasta.
Mix altogether.

Viola!! Fin!!

Note: You can also add cooked bacon and such too. Haven't tried it yet because this is my first time doing this recipe and it's just a trial version only.

Goldilocks - Orange Chicken

My brother decided to buy an Orange Chicken from Goldilocks for his lunch today. The first time I saw it (since I came down later), I was wondering what is the pork with orange doing on the table. More like, what's with the orange?? (sorry.. couldn't see well).

Anyway, my mom came and my bro offered if she'd like to try the Orange Chicken. My mind went 'Oh! That's the orange chicken!'. After taking a bite, my mom said it was good! (Himala!!! =D). So I tried some as well... and it really was good!

The chicken was cut into bit size pieces and was deep fried before the orange sauce was added.

The taste is more like a mixture of sweetness, a bit BBQ-ish, and a tinge of sourness. All in all, it's a unique taste which is not 'nakaka-umay'.

An order costs 70php which it not bad considering it tastes good =D

WHAT is this??? ANSWER

Here's the answer to the mind boggling image... mind boggling nga ba?

Anyway, its a container for different kinds of drinks.

That's how the plastic (even glass, me thinks) bottles look like before going through beverage production.

Hope you had fun!

Canine Parvovirus Strikes

February 20, 2009, Friday

This morning at 6AM, we received a terrible news from our vet. Green died at 3AM today due to Parvovirus.

He was my favorite among the litter. He was malambing even if he's quite an iyakin, I still like him. Who wouldn't? He already sees me as his master. He would whine whenever I leave him behind.

He was already mine... I begged my mom to have him instead of adopting him out. He became mine, but Parvovirus took him away from me.

Monday morning, 12AM, he pooped. His poop was a bit soft but I found no traces of blood nor any foul odor, as far as I can recall.

1AM, he vomited.

Almost every hour, he would vomit. I opened a bottle of Pedialyte to prevent him from getting dehydrated. But he wouldn't drink much.

3AM, he vomited again, so I texted our vet hoping she'd be awake.

As I wait, he fell asleep. I observed him and hoped that he wouldn't vomit again. Hoping that he only ate something bad that gave him an upset tummy. Unfortunately, he vomited again.

So I called our vet afterwards (4AM) and told her in detail what has happened.

4:30AM, my bro and I were preparing to leave to bring Green to the vet when I saw he pooped. That was probably the 3rd or 4th time already. This time his stool was very loose already but still no trace of blood.

Around 5AM, the vet checked for his stats and gave him IV. He was still very masigla that time. He was whinning and crying so I stayed by his side to comfort him. I was still hoping it was nothing serious. But then, his poop started to have a foul smell.

I thought everything would be well since we have the vet treat him early. But I didn't understand that Parvo doesn't work in that manner. Parvo attacks mercilessly. The worst part is that there is no direct cure for the virus. All the vet could do is prevent secondary complications like dehydration etc.

By the end of the day, he was still fine. He even ate, but his stool was still loose so we couldn't bring him home.

As the day passes, I was hoping that Green would get better and better. But he didn't. He grew weaker and weaker little by little each day. Yesterday, he was quite matamlay. I was starting to loose hope but I shoved the feeling away. I told him, as I have been doing, that he has to fight off the disease. That his ka-tropa are waiting for him. That I'm waiting for him too and that we would come home together. But he never made it...

I really miss him.. He hasn't been home since Monday until today, Friday. He would never be. His home is somewhere else, in a place where he would no longer get sick. Where Sydney, Benjie and all the others have gone first. I really wish there is a rainbow bridge waiting for them. Also, that they too, have souls and that one day we would be together again.

Goodbye Green/ Lincoln... we miss you already.... Your stay, though short, was full of life. (November 28, 2008 ~ February 20, 2009).

To mommies and daddies (of beloved pets): Please take care of your pets. Be a responsible owner and have them vaccinated properly. Give them the love and care the deserved. I don't know much about caring for pets aside for dogs. But losing one, I knew the pain. Let's not wait to learn our lessons the hard way...

We gave Green/ Lincoln the best we can. But the vaccine for Parvo didn't seem to have taken effect. Still, I couldn't help but regret that maybe we missed out on something....

February 14, 2009

This is the day when Bam Bam came home to his new family. We were planning on bringing him to his new home on the first Sunday of February. However, he got sick so we had to complete his medications first before seeing him off.

At his new home, I saw that he would be having a lot of companions. There was actually one little dog, a Yorkie, called Nuggets A.K.A "King". Nuggets seemed to hate Bam-bam at first sight. He was constantly bullying and nipping Bam-bam. So tago muna kami sa loob ng bahay. But still Bam-bam continued yapping outside. Along with him are two mini pins, who like to bark like there's no tomorrow. One of the mini pins like an energizer dog, who never ceased to jump up and down outside.

After a while, Bam-bam got to adjust to his new home, but is still scared of Nuggets. We left hoping he would be able to adjust soon.

On Monday, we got a news that Bam-bam has befriended Nuggets already. Actually, more like the table has turned on him. This time around, it was Bam-bam who was pestering the King. Hehe... also some bad news... Just hours after leaving Bam-bam, he got to destroy a charger and two slippers... Wonder what's next?

Aside from re-homing Bam-bam, we got good news from Tessa (who's now called Stacey) and Momo. Being the only *ahem* daughter, Stacey is very spoiled. Stacey's yaya is so fond of her that she forgets to do her household chores. To which Cely doesn't mind, cause Stacey's her little baby. What's funny is that even if Cely's busy with work, she would always have a little time to tell us short stories about Stacey. She spoils Stacey with material things as well as tons of attention, not only from the two of them, but also from her pamangkins.

Momo would, time to time come to see Stacey and play with her. They still know each other. Every time they see each other, their tails would wag like crazy. Then they would play just like before. Like Stacey, Momo too has gotten fatter and is well loved by his new mom and dad. Some would even joke that the dad loves Momo more that his wife ehehe...

Mom's Favorite Candies

Here's a list of my mom's favorite candies.

1.) This is, I would suppose, her most favorite. It's COCONUT CANDY. She got to try it out when we went to Hong Kong. So every time we go there, she tells us to buy LOADS and LOADS of it.
Where it can be bought:
It's very common at Aji-Ichiban stores. Although, if you buy there, it is expensive. Around 70+ HK dollars for 2 lbs.
We happened to stumble upon a store that sells a cheaper one! Ayun lang nga, I can't remember the place (Trust me to do just that!!). It costs around 20+ HK dollars for a pound.
So, if we compare notes, if I buy at the un-named store, I'll get an additional pound for the price of Aji-Ichiban.
If anyone knows where we can get a hold of this here... you get me... I haven't tried looking at Aji stores here though...
Here's a pic

2.) Lemon Drops. When I was still a kid, I can recall that she had been eating this candy already. That habit stopped for a long time and manage to resurface again....
Where it can be bought:
Cash & Carry. The problem is that, it's almost always out of stock!!!
Unimart. It was only once that I saw Lemon Drops being sold there...
No other groceries have been found selling this candy... yet.....
Cost: around 25php
My bro actually told her to just get the number of the manufacturer and ask which groceries are distributing this very illusive candy.

3.) If there's no Lemon Drops, Nougat ang bagsak. She likes this too, but not as much as the Lemon drops. The dogs love it, though (background - Me: Ma!! wag mu na bigyan, masanay yan. Maya magka-diabetes pa yan eh!).
Speaking of dogs loving it, remember the melamine scandal? hehe... I even said na baka may melamine yang candy?! In hopes that she would stop giving candies to the dogs.
Where it can be bought: Ay! Naglipana ang mga yan sa groceries!!!
Cost: around 22 php

4.) Last but not the least Werther's candies. It's a butterscotch candy, which I also like. I remember eating this as a kid as well. Aaannnd again, dogs love it too... teka nga, lahat naman ata type ng dogs eh!! Parang mga patay-gutom tong mga to oh!!
Where it can be bought: Any grocery.
Cost: 60+ php (nearing 70) a pouch... Kaya nanghinayang magbigay sa dogs (sa wakas!!). She likes this but since it's a bit expensive, she saves it during rainy seasons (ahem... when above candies are running low po ang ibig sabihin nun).

Devil Pasta

Long time ago, I watched a cooking show (a beautiful Italian lady who I can't remember the name.. parang Giana something...). I tried out her recipe with a few alterations.. It sure tasted gooood!!

What you need:
garlic, minced (a lot would be good!)
chili, chopped (depends on your tolerance, I use a piece or 2 only)
olive oil (depends on how much your making, although a few goes a long way na)
butter (depends on how much your making, although a few goes a long way na)
basil, shredded
salt and pepper, to taste
pasta, cooked
Parmesan cheese, grated
(tancha tancha-han na lang yan!!! =D)

What to do:
(Low fire only please)
Melt butter.
Add olive oil.
Brown garlic in melted butter and olive oil.
Add chili.
Salt and pepper to taste.
Turn off fire.
Add basil.
Serve with pasta and Parmesan cheese.

Add-ons:
Nuts, finely chopped (we tried cashew)
Shrimp

If you hate chili, just remove 'em.

HAPPY COOKING!! =D

Grumble grumble

A day or two afternoons ago, a customer of ours, e-mailed me an extremely long (and boring) quotation. Costing the items is no problem. Pricing them is done by THE BIG BOSS but was forwarded back to me (due to the length of the quotation). What is excruciating is computerizing it on an existing template. I should have copied the e-mailed quotation instead. Panu kasi I thought that the old e-mailed quotation is the same with this one. (Wrong assumption). Tuloy na helo helo na ako!! To the point I got a headache. So I just ditched the whole thing last night and continued today. FINALLY, I'M DONE!! Yun lang nga, haven't double checked it though... oh well... will do later

Disturbing na Pang Ra-RACKET

Last Saturday, my bro and I went out to buy some grocery stuff at MOA. After being gone for a few hours, my mom (actually the secretary,Grace, di kasi marunong si mama gumamit ng CP) called us and asked where we were. We were actually on our way home already. Then Grace told us that they received a text message saying that we got into an accident. Of course, I was like huh? Eh pauwi na nga kami. Baka wrong sent lang yan.

So upon arriving home, commotion is what greeted us. I haven't read the actual message yet so I said baka wrong sent lang. However, when I read text, I came to a conclusion that it totally is not.

"Ma. d2 q s osptal nabanga ung cnaskyan nmin nkitxt lng po aq 1 lng lud n2. lud nyo nga po 2ng # n2 60 pra mkatawag aq sainyo blisan u lng po gas2 at play lng sugat q."

That was the actual text (which I found difficult to understand and type =P). Obviously, this is one "pang raracket" to get a 60 load. What is very annoying is the story the person weaved to get the load.

Of course the people would be panic stricken to think properly; to understand each and every word in the text; to even think of calling us first, to make sure. Siguro ganun lang talaga pag nataranta, madaling mapa-ikot. Nabulabog ang mga tao dito sa amin. They actually went out to buy 60 load. (Buti na lang at sarado ang tindahan!! Sayang naman ang 60 pesos!!)

The story has its loopholes, as I've told the people.
(1.) We're riding OUR car (cnasakyan means commuting),
(2.) I don't use "po" or "opo" to my mom (hehehe...),
(3.) If I'm/ we're at the hospital at wala akong load, nandiyan naman si bro. If both of us don't have load. E di mang hiram ng landline (I bet others would do the same)!
(4.) If I'm/ we're at the hospital, I would specify which hospital I'm/ we're at. Natural lang naman yun, di ba?
(5.) If I'll ask for load, bakit sa number ng di ko kilalang nilalang? =P
(6.) I don't text like that!!!

"Ma. d2 q s osptal nabanga ung cnaskyan nmin nkitxt lng po aq 1 lng lud n2. lud nyo nga po 2ng # n2 60 pra mkatawag aq sainyo blisan u lng po gas2 at play lng sugat q."

Dining at Joey Pepperoni

My bro and I would usually go out on Saturdays and have lunch at MOA. One time, when we were searching for a resto to stuff ourselves, we stumbled across Joey Pepperoni. Being an Italian food lover me, I automatically pointed the place. No regrets after that!! What's fantastic about the place is that they have a promo of 50% off on all pizzas between 1PM to 6PM (I think...).

Well, aside from the slash off, the food itself is Purfecto =D The crust is unlike any crust in any pizzeria. It's thin, sweet, crunchy crust! Doesn't taste like bread, unlike others =P It's sooo addicting!! Well, so far I have tried Brooklyn (if you like anchovies, go for this one), Alfredo (this is good too), Quatro Fromage (4 cheese - my personal favorite), and another one which I forgot the name .

Aside from the pizzas, the pastas I have tried and fell in love with is Alio Olio. It's an oil based pasta with a lot of garlic!! Yummy!! We did try their specialty red sauce pasta, but I prefer the Alio Olio anytime. I even made sawsaw the pizza crust to make simut-simut of the sauce hahaha... Hey, it went well. I feel that the taste got enhanced even more haha..

We seldom go for starters. But their mozzarella sticks is at the top (so far). Specially when really hot!! Aw aw aw.. but real good!!

The prices for the food is very reasonable, considering it's good food. If compared to other pizzeria, it's by far cheap.

If you'll be dining at MOA, they can give 10% off if you have SM Advantage/ Prestige Card!! Cool huh? Yun lang nga, cash basis pa sila.

It's really a must try!!

Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation

Around October or November last year, I was doing some activity that involves me bending. Bend, straighten up, bend, straighten up.. the process repeats over and over. At every straightening up, I'd feel a slight pain on my lower back, which I simply shrugged off. After finishing with the bending activity, my back was quite painful but, I didn't mind thinking it's nothing a good nights sleep can't fix.

The next day, the pain was still there but, it was tolerable as long as I don't bend too much. Unfortunately, days after, I was accidentally pushed at a wrong angle and I actually felt my lower back snap. "Aw aw aw" was all I could say. Again, I simply shrugged it off.

That night was extremely painful. I couldn't sleep properly! I can't even shift position without hurting my back. I practically slept in one position only, to which I am totally not comfortable with.

Days and days passed. The pain was subsiding little by little. But never totally gone. At certain postures, my lower back would hurt like shit.

So, I finally decided to see the doctor. He prescribe some medication and I got my back and knees (it hurts when climbing up the stairs.. just didn't mind it for a long time) x-rayed. The result was simply muscle strain on the lower back. As for the knees... I need to lose weight!!! Darn it!!! I was advised to go to therapy for at least six sessions however, if the pain still persists, I need to have an MRI (don't want too....).

Having my physical therapy actually feels good! At times, I would actually fall asleep. The process goes like this:
(1) They have these huge hot compresses placed on the bed. Then they attach "tense" (some sort of mechanism that massages certain area/s of your body) to the affected area. So you lie down for twenty minutes. =D Feel soooo good!!
(2) They have this machine called "ultrasound". It's not really the common ultrasound we know. It basic purpose is like that of the hot compress except that the heat it generates penetrates deep within. At first, I really thought it's gonna be painful. But I didn't feel a thing at all. Takes around 20 minutes. Well, sometimes I would fall asleep too =D
(3) Next is the massage. Well.. it's not the common massage we get from spa treatment. The massage would only concentrate on one part of the body. Mine would be my shoulders.
(4) Probably the most boring part is excersice and stretching. It doesn't really take that long, if your fast, that is.
(5) Lastly would be "retraction". They bind you to a bed (ate, parang siraulo ba ako?) and attached the straps to a machine. The machine pulls your lower body. It should feel good, as some patients said. But... I don't feel good. Parang wala lang nga eh! Mas masarap pa nga kung manu-manong hatakan nalang eh =D Pwede ba yun?

The therapy session would usually last for 2 hours. Usually, I would be the last patient to leave. Panu kasi 3PM ang lagi kong pa-schedule eh. Last week, i got to finish my 6th session. Unfortunately, my back still hurts at times. So today, I'll be having another therapy session. Hopefully, I won't have to get an MRI done.

Moses "Momo" close to Tessa

Got no problem with that!

Testarossa "Tessa" has found a home

Today (January 29, 2009), Tessa is finally with her new family. We were advised by my auntie that a common friend (supplier to be exact) of ours is actually interested in having a puppy. It's actually her first time in having one. She lives alone with her maid and doesn't have kids. I hope that Tessa will be able to fill the void in their home when her pamangkins are not visiting her. Mga kids, be nice to Tessa. She's quite shy kasi.

My auntie actually told us that she would be getting a male. The one she should have had if only her German Shepherd doesn't bite. As the days passed, I was waiting for my aunt to tell me when she would be dropping by to pick up the puppy. I was actually expecting her to arrive probably on a Saturday or a Sunday, when there is less work, most likely.

As the days passed, no news came. My auntie even asked me if she called me. I said, she did but it was purely business. I was starting to wonder if she will still drop by.

Just this morning, my auntie gave us a heads up that she will ask someone to come and pick up a female pup instead of a male one. Kasi ang mga boys daw, according to her bro, eh bad. Wawa naman mga alaga ko... Wag nyong pakinggan yan!

Probably around 3 or 4 in the afternoon, there was a doorbell and one of the boys checked it out and said it's XXX supplier! So I went out and asked the boy, "Is that Cely?" (since I don't know how she looks like). In my mind I thought, 'wow, she came?! I thought she would be busy in the office.' Any hows, it actually was good for her to be there so I can personally tell her the do's and don'ts.

I was supposed to bring the female pup down, but then I thought that she might want to see the boy, Momo. So I invited her upstairs, since the pups are doing their daily workout of running wild, karate-ing each other, pestering the older members of the pack etc etc etc at the terrace.
Cely and her maid was a bit afraid to go out coz some unhappy chap started barking . So I brought the two pups inside instead. They actually had difficulty choosing who of the two to bring home. But I think they like Momo coz he was so energetic and physically bigger compared to Tessa. As they were deciding, I was answering some of their questions and giving tips on how to care for them to which they listened attentively.

After much thinking, brother's advice won over. Personally, I would advice Momo since she's a first timer and Momo is like an energy ball compared to Tessa who's a bit shy. I hope and pray that they will be able to get along with each other (real fast). I did give them a print out of guidelines.. hope that helps them. I hope that when they encounter difficulties (knocks on ALL wood), they won't hesitate to give me a ring.

Tessa, you maybe missing your brothers and sisters (and us too); I hope that you will be able to start cheering up and get working on your "spunky" personality. Start snuggling, landi landi-ing, capture their hearts just like how your mommy did to your lola. (Si daddy? bato yan eh... ). I wish I can hear great news about you soon!

Brandy has found a new home!!!

Brandy is finally home!! Yehey!! This morning, my auntie Beth texted us to bring (another) a female pup to their place. She told us that someone would be dropping by to pick her up. I decided to bring 2 females instead so the said person could choose between the two. (And a male but that would be another story, hopefully soon).

At the last minute, I prepared their cage for transport. It's a good thing I didn't get scolded hehe..

In the car, the pups were practically whining all the way. And I thought all will be ok since I placed toys in the cage. Finally, they decided to stop and sleep.

When we arrived at our aunt's place, the person who's supposed to get a pup still hasn't arrived. So we (more like I) munched down the food offered to us. And after gulping down 2 glasses of water, my bro and I left to buy dog food (for the mommy; and stupid me, I forgot to buy puppy food) and buy jello at Greenhills. As we were driving back, my bro received a text message that "they" are there already. So we drove back, in the usual fashion we do.

Arriving back, there was Tita Len, cuz Mike, cuz Cae, and cuz Me-an!! Of course I knew it was them all along! Binibitin lang po kayo =D

So after much cuddling, playing (with the other pup/ dog of aunt Beth), running etc etc... They finally decided on Brandy. Although Cae wants the FAT and NAUGHTY one =D

Ayan, eh di nagka reunion sila ni Cloe!! Good luck Letlet!!
Mike!!

Cleopatra "Cloe" has found a new home!!

Cleopatra AKA "Cloe" (Just thought of the name a few day/s ago , hirap naman pag identify sila as puppy 1...) is finally home!! Our Tita Len was supposed to drop by a week ago but since she got sick (and still is -- get well soon Tita!!), her brother dropped by to pick Cloe up.

At first, we thought that they will postpone dropping by since it was around 4:00 and there was still no sight of them. But at around 4:30, someone rang the doorbell. And there stood Tita Len's Bro (sorriieee.. can't recall his name )
carrying two bags of goodies (grabe tiba tiba kame sa pagkain yummy). So I prepared her box, since the puppy food, doggie book and a toy had been taken care off earlier. I even got scolded (a little), bakit daw ngayon ko lang inaayos. Eeee.. it won't take long naman eh. So I accompanied him to the gate, so he won't have difficulty, just in case Cleo decides to jump off, which she thankfully didn't.

An hour later, mom wondered loudly whether they are home already or not. And I said, nah, can't be. Ang bilis naman. As if in cue, the CP rang and it was Tita Len. Ah, nandun na pala sila.. my mistake. Cleo, you're home!! (Kahit office pa lang ).

We'll miss you! But no worries, we know you'll be in good hands naman. Ang you'll have a playmate too! ........ err... They'll get along sooner or later.

Will be posting more pics of her... some time!!

Bodies... The Exhibition

Just this Sunday, I accompanied my mom to the salon. As we were waiting for her turn to have her hair trimmed, I picked up an FHM magazine (I think it's an October/ November issue - their cover girl was Jean Garcia). As I was skimming through the pages, my eyes were caught by the "Bodies... The Exhibition", more specifically, by the images. Getting curious, I read the whole article and boy, was I shocked. And by the end (before reaching the end, actually) I became fascinated and curiosity has grown in me.

Who would have thought that the day would come when exhibits would use (preserved) REAL HUMAN BODIES? Some are preserved WHOLE doing a specific action/ movement like kicking a soccer ball etc (excluding the skin to show what our insides would look like while in that state). Some were chopped/ dissected to show a specific human organ/ system. While some use only a specific anatomy of the human.

I managed to see images in the net and here are some (for the curious ones)

I guess that's enough teaser. I'm actually just borrowing (ahem ahem... please don't sue me) the images. Besides the others might just be to eww... already.

***Wishing the day would come for me to see this exhibit***
